Warts are small, non-cancerous skin growths caused by human papillomavirus (HPV). This growth can appear anywhere on the body, including on the hands, feet, and genitals, and is often rough to the touch. Several methods are available for treating warts. These include Freezing, which involves applying liquid nitrogen to the wart; hyfrecation, which uses electric currents to destroy wart tissue; Medication, such as salicylic acid or other topical treatments; surgical removal, which involves cutting out the wart; and Vbeam® Laser treatment, which targets the blood vessels feeding the wart, effectively reducing its size and appearance. The treatment for warts is suitable for anyone experiencing discomfort, irritation, or self-consciousness due to warts. Generally, people will see results within a few weeks to a few months after treatment, depending on the method used and the size and location of the warts. TYPES OF TREATMENTS

Freezing
Freezing, also known as cryotherapy, involves applying liquid nitrogen to the wart. The extreme cold causes the wart tissue to freeze and die, eventually causing it to fall off. In most cases, this treatment is quick, but it may take several sessions depending on the size and location of the wart. Patients might experience minor discomfort or blistering, and healing usually occurs within one to two weeks.
Hyfrecation
Hyfrecation is a procedure that uses electrical currents to destroy wart tissue. A fine needle or probe delivers a controlled electric current, which burns and eliminates the wart. This method is effective for small to medium-sized warts and typically requires a local anesthetic to minimize discomfort. The treated area may scab over and heal within a few weeks.
Medication
Medications for warts typically include topical treatments like salicylic acid, which helps to peel away the wart gradually. There are also other options, such as Imiquimod, which boosts the immune system to combat the virus, and cantharidin as an off-label option, which causes the wart to blister and fall off. These treatments require regular application over several weeks to months and are best suited for small warts.
Surgical Removal
Surgical removal involves physically cutting out the wart. This procedure is usually done under local anesthesia to prevent pain. It is often used for more prominent warts or those that do not respond to other treatments. The wound is typically closed with stitches, and patients need to follow post-operative care instructions to prevent infection and promote healing, which usually takes a few weeks.
Vbeam Laser
The Vbeam® laser targets the blood vessels feeding the wart, reducing its size and appearance. This precise laser treatment minimizes damage to the surrounding skin. Multiple sessions might be needed, and patients can expect minimal discomfort and a short recovery time with minor redness or swelling in the treated area.
